Zinc is a trace mineral used particularly during rapid
cell growth, such as during healing. Zinc also has positive
immune response support, being used to shorten the duration
of cold symptoms.
Optimal Daily Dosage
12 mg per day from food or supplements - Maximum of
30 mg per day.
Try to get at least 15mg from food, and a maximum of
15 mg from supplements.
Too much zinc intake [above 30 mg per day] may:
- Interfere with the actions of other minerals
- Impair your immune system
- Reduce your healthy (HDL) cholesterol levels
