Women pass through several cycles in their lives, all
which can wreck havoc on the way the body functions,
resulting in many uncomfortable symptoms.
Symptoms including, bloating, fluid retention, acne,
sore joints, aching limbs, mood swings, sore breasts...the
list goes on. These symptoms occur at anytime the hormones
change, including onset of periods, pregnancy and following
pregnancy, illnesses impacting hormones, and menopause.
Menopause
is not an easy passage for many women. With symptoms
ranging from mood swings, hot flushes, sore breasts,
higher cholesterol levels and aching joints, the medical
world has yet to come up with a fully acceptable response
to helping women with this natural event.
Fortunately, there are some natural ingredients that
have proven helpful to many women, without side effects
common to drug ‘remedies’. Side effects
to estrogen may include breast tenderness, nausea, headaches,
leg cramps, irregular bleeding, weight gain and bloating.
Bioidentical HRT
Using natural products
to manage menopause is also known as "bioidentical"
hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) . Bioidentifcal HRT
is based around three main naturally occurring human
estrogens estradiol, estrone, and estriol, as well as
to refer to bioidentical human progesterone and sometimes
testosterone.

these hormones include:
Hormone therapy
taken soon after menopause may help protect against
dementia, even though it raises the risk of mental
decline in women who do not take the drugs until
they are older. Dementia risk was 1% in women who started
HRT early, and 1.7% in women who didn't, (e.g. women
who didn't take it seem to have had—on average—a
70% higher relative risk of dementia).
Cardiovascual Benefits
Another recent controlled, randomized study found HRT
may actually prevent the development of heart disease
and reduce the incidence of heart attack in women between
50 and 59, but not for older women. This is thought
to be due to reducing the propensity for clotting, rather
than improving both "good"
and "bad" cholesterol concentrations in the
blood [which also have a protective effect].
Cancer
Natural HRT is claimed to not increase the risk of
breast
cancer, commonly thought a risk using HRT drugs.
In particular, phytosterols
are being studied for their benefit in reducing breast
cancer
