BODY WELLNESS
Sufficient Water Intake
Did you know:
- The adult human body is composed of approximately
75 % water; the brain and skin are composed of 85%water,
blood 82% water, and the lungs top the scale at nearly
90% water.
- You can survive about a month without food, but
only 5-7 days without water.
It is no wonder then that we get a headache when we
overindulge in alcohol.
- Alcohol dehydrates the body. Dehydration causes
the brain to shrink away from the skull slightly triggering
pain sensors on the outside surface of your brain.
- Unintentional dehydration produces stress, chronic
pains and many degenerative diseases.
Fereydoon Batamanghelidj, M.D. after researching dehydration
for 20 years realised that the solution to most disease
conditions of our society was water. Dr Batamanghelidj
promotes that “at the molecular level that it
is water that regulates all functions of the body including
functions of solid matter”.

transcript of an interview with Dr Batamanghelidj
Understanding how much water and when we need it is
key. A dry mouth is not the only sign of dehydration
and waiting to get thirsty before we drink water is
wrong.
Current debate surrounds the new consumer wave of bottled
water and suggestions that we are overindulging, causing
the brain to swell have sparked more interest in the
‘product’.
