Antioxidant - Polygalacturonic Acids
Polygalacturonic Acids [D-galacturonic acid] is a polymer
uronic acid formed through the specific oxidation of
aldoses [a common sugar].
These Polysaccharides are used within cells for cellular
regeneration and growth. Polysaccharides are also the
basis of structural elements of cells, giving cells
their structural strength. Polysaccharides are also
useful in storing energy in the form of glycogen [animal
starch] and starch [in plants].
