Vitamin A
Vitamin A is required for proper functioning of our
eye, and as an antioxidant.
Sources: green leafy vegetables, broccoli,
carrot, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, papaya etc.
Deficiency results in: problems related to
eyesight such as night blindness.
Beta-carotene - A form of vitamin
A with cancer-preventing properties. Beta-carotene also
gives your skin a nice tanned look.
Deficiency Results in: increased risk of
cancer, particularly cervical and lung cancer. Beta-carotene
specifically protects smokers from lung cancer (it reduces
but does not eliminate the risk) in amounts of 25,000–40,000
IUs daily taken in one or two doses.
